Alex Pall’s Success Puts the Spotlight On More than Just Music

Alex Pall is one half of the duet making up the Chainsmokers. A talented artist, Pall is a brilliant master of mixing soundscapes. This eclectic ear for music is apparently attached to an eclectic eye. Pall’s sprawling home in Hollywood Hills is a mash-up of artistry, decades, bright furniture, and nature-themed wallpaper. The house was featured recently in the real estate section of the Wall Street Journal. The decorator behind the domicile is Peti Lau, whose visual eye matches Pall’s musical ear. A talented interior designer Lau is very proud of Pall’s house. The 3,600 square foot home was built in 1930, so it contains some naturally built retro-features. It was also renovated in the 80’s and the 90’s. It makes sense that a mish-mash home would be idyllic for a mish-mash artist. In Pall’s case it just solidifies his celebrity. When one is really famous, they start writing articles about their house.

Earlier this year, Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart released the first of what would be five singles to the listening public. “Sick Boy” was a new wave of what the EDM duet called their darker themed songs. It was sung by Taggart and focused on the identity problems social media creates. It even showcased the duets own problems with oversaturation on social media. Pretty deep theme for what can be categorized as dance pop. This is typical Chainsmokers though, they have never been an ordinary EDM band and it is on purpose. The continuing success of their initial studio album, Memories… Do Not Open, shows exactly how successful their innovations are. The album has not left the top 5 since its release. In the wake of all this publicity, it is no wonder that Pall’s digs have garnered a look.

In an interview Pall gave some years ago he spoke about fame. “We have become so much bigger than imagined,” he said. According to the artist continued success is a struggle for identity. Luckily, he has a house personified by identity to keep him grounded. According to Pall the home is a good escape, a chalet in the hills.
