Scorsese’s New Film is Done

Initial shooting of “The Irishman” has officially wrapped up, says director Martin Scorsese via his Instagram page. The movie is based on a book called “I Heard You Paint Houses” by Charles Brandt. “The Irishman” marks Scorsese’s return to the gangster genre along side actor Robert De Niro.

The movie is about Frank Sheeran, whose nickname was The Irishman. Sheeran spent years as a hitman for the mob and is said to have carried out over 20 executions for them.

Scorsese says that the movie will make excellent use of the latest technology available to the movie industry. Much like how Kurt Russell and Brad Pitt have had their age changed in previous movies, Robert De Niro’s image will be altered by the best in the business so that he will be able to portray all versions of Frank Sheeran.

If you are excited for Scorsese’s latest addition to the gangster genre or are a fan of Robert De Niro, don’t get too excited. Netflix, who handled the budgeting for the film, currently have no plans to release the movie in 2018. Fans of De Nio and Scorsese will most likely have to wait until 2019 to get their hands on “The Irishman.”
