Daniel Radcliffe, however many roles he may get in his life, will be most remembered as Harry Potter to millions of fans in the movie series based off the books of the same name.
For ten years he starred as the leading role in the movie series from 2011 up until the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 2011. But even though author J.K. Rowling has already completed the seven book series, with eight films to match, there are a large number of fans who are hoping that she returns to the world she created once more and with some more stories.
Meanwhile, Daniel Radcliffe himself has been involved in multiple films and enjoyed multiple roles since the end of the series, but the role of Harry Potter is easily his most iconic. In a recent interview, Radcliffe expressed some interest in returning to the role that made him famous, saying that his return would depend on the script he received and circumstances. He added by saying that even though his first answer is simply ‘No,’ there would always be room to give it a second thought at any point in the future.
Overall, it’s not out of the question for Radcliffe to make a return to the series. Rowling herself hasn’t either, since she has been writing the script for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a prequel movie to the original Harry Potter series.
As fans of Harry Potter have doubtless heard, another film series set in that world is in the works. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them tells the story of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) , the magizoologist who wrote the titular book that is now considered a classic of its kind.
The first movie, which is expected to come out in November, tells of Scamander’s adventures in North America. It also introduces the wizarding community of New York City, where Scamander met people who had attended a school of magic called Ilvermorny.
Over the years, J.K. Rowling has written stories for the website Pottermore that help flesh out minor characters or relate events that happened before or after the books. Her latest contribution to Pottermore tells the story of Ilvermorny and its founder, an Irish woman named Isolt Sayre who was descended from the infamous Salzar Slytherin.
Isolt was raised by her aunt, Gormlaith Gaunt, who shared Slytherin’s hatred of muggles and vowed to ensure that her niece married only a pureblood wizard and never even encountered a muggle. Isolt wanted more from her life and ran away. She boarded the Mayflower and thus became one of the first people to settle in the United States. She eventually married and had children and founded a school, so she could educate them and any other magical children in the area.
Like Hogwarts, Ilvermorny has four houses, but they are named after magical creatures native to North America, rather than the founders. They are therefore called the Wampus, the Horned Serpent, the Thunderbird and the Pukwudgie.
If you were to look inside the purses of some of the Harry Potter characters, you might find some odd items, but there could also be some items that you might find in your own purse. Hermione might have some yarn in her purse along with a picture of her family, a few books and some makeup. Ginny might have lipstick in red, a ruby ring, lotion and a chaser badge. Stevetastic reports this is because she is a chaser for the team when playing Quidditch. One of the girls who might have a few odd items is Luna. She likes dreams, so there could be gems or a book of spells. This is a fun topic to think about, but it also shows that women keep various items in their purses. No one woman is the same, and no purse will contain exactly the same kinds of things for the woman to use.
